Beijing's first snow of season 'artificially induced'

BEIJING (AFP) – Chinese meteorologists covered Beijing in snow Sunday after seeding clouds to bring winter weather to the capital in an effort to combat a lingering drought, state media reported.

The unusually early snow blanketed the capital from Sunday morning and kept falling for half the day, helped by temperatures as low as minus 2 Celsius (29 Fahrenheit) and strong winds from the north, Xinhua news agency reported.

Besides falling in the northeastern provinces of Liaoning and Jilin and the northern province of Hebei, the eastern port city of Tianjin also got its first snow of the autumn, the report said.

"We wont miss any opportunity of artificial precipitation since Beijing is suffering from the lingering drought," the report quoted Zhang Qiang, head of the Beijing Weather Modification Office, as saying.

Chinese meteorologists have for years sought to make rain by injecting special chemicals into clouds.

Although the technique often gets results, a drought in the north of the country has continued for over a decade.

Besides the snow, which the Beijing Evening News said was the earliest to hit the capital in 10 years, the cold weather and strong winds also delayed air travel from Beijing's Capital Airport, while interrupting passenger shipping services off the coast of Shandong province in the east, Xinhua said.

Unedited MUFON witness report - undisclosed location in Texas - 10-11-09: My 13 year old son and his 2 friends were hanging out at one of the boys house (Oct. 11, 2009) when they were talking about spirit orbs and catching them on camera. So they went out on the back patio late afternoon, it was misty and cool that day. He opened his cell phone to take randon pics to try and capture orbs. He took 3 pics which 2 were blurry of the willow tree that is in the boys back yard. The last one he took was of the grass, tree, a ball, and sky.

The following evening he was going back through his pics and noticed the UFO in the clear pic he took. He came down stairs and showed his dad then showed me. My first reaction was that is a UFO, and I asked where he got the pic, he said he took it. My husband fowarded the pic to his phone so he could zoom in on it. It is very clear that it is a UFO. I know that it is not a flying pig, witch, Santa, bird, plane, or the all too famous "weather balloon". I asked the boys did they see it or hear it. They did not and were totally in "awe" over the whole thing. I want clarification on the pic from a UFO pro. Some people think we are crazy or that we photo shopped the pic. I wish I owned that program and had the knowledge of how to edit pics, but I don't. My kids tell me I am crazy and well maybe sometimes I am when they make me crazy. LOL.

My family has always believed in UFO's, so when we saw this pic we were like "wow", "see they do exist". My family is not scared since the discovery of the pic, UFO's have been around for along time, and I think if they meant us harm they would have done so a long time ago. You can't see who is piloting the craft so I can't for sure tell you if it is an alien or human.

UFO appears outside supermarket in China surprising shoppers, photos

Shoppers in Shijiazhuang City in China’s Hebei Province got a surprise on Sunday that was quite literally ‘out of this world’. As some late-night shoppers were leaving a supermarket a UFO was seen hovering above the store’s entrance. The UFO remained above the entrance for around one minute before shooting off into the night sky.

One witness who was carrying a mobile phone managed to get a number of shots of the craft (See photos below). The witness, who insists that there were other passersby who also saw the sighting, then posted the UFO photos on a popular science and technology site requesting assistance in identifying the object.

While many UFO experts might regard these images as showing a classic saucer shaped UFO with possible lights or windows around it, in China this type of UFO that involves a row of lights is sometimes also referred to as a ‘flying stick’ UFO. In the Chinese city of Foshan recently another ‘flying stick’ UFP was seen and photographed by a newspaper photographer last month (Picture Below).

Continued Controversy Over Yowie Sighting in Pilliga Forest, NSW

coonabarabran - A recent sighting of what appeared to be a hairy creature lurking in the Pilliga has Baradine residents wondering if there is some truth to the primeval legend of the yowie. Although the image was fleeting and nobody could describe exactly what they saw, the incident adds mystery to a story that has its roots in Aboriginal folklore. The contentious and potentially scary incident occurred late in the evening of Wednesday, 26 August, when two buses containing high school student members of the Regional Children’s Choir were returning to Baradine from a camp-fire evening at Odell’s Crossing.

Coincidentally, the youngsters had been listening to some hair-raising Pilliga tales related to them by local residents, Roy Matthews, Ronnie Magann and Pat Madden. The purpose of the excursion, organised by National Parks & Wildlife, was to give the Moorambilla choir group a feel for the forest. Composer and musician, Dan Walker, has been working with the kids preparing music and song based on the yowie legend.

After enjoying the camp fire stories and billy tea and damper in the heart of the forest, the group set off on the return drive. As the first bus approached Odell’s Crossing, driver Daisy Matthews was startled to see something she believes resembled a strange human moving between the trees. She reports that she had a brief glimpse of a ‘wild looking’ hairy figure running towards the bus. “It seemed to be confused and dazzled by the headlights,” commented Mrs. Matthews. “We were travelling very slowly, but it all happened so quickly and I still wonder if I was seeing things!

“However, most of the kids said they had seen something, but there was such a lot of commotion and noise which really must have scared the creature away.” The driver of the second bus, Cliff Matthews, said that he really could not make a comment other than there was definitely something or someone on the track. He says that a heavy thump against the side of his bus as he approached the creek did cause a brief unnerving moment and there was a good deal of excitement amongst his young passengers.

Yowie-type creatures are common in the legends and stories of Australian Aboriginal tribes and the mid to late 19th century saw a wealth of sightings; most describing a large, gorilla-like creature living in mountainous or forested regions. Over the years there have been many stories of yowie sightings in the Pilliga, in fact there have been more reported yowie sightings in the forest than anywhere else in Australia and it is often known as a ‘hot spot’ for yowie hunters.

The choir kids were eager to hear yarns about the yowie and first hand experiences from local residents. “It is interesting to note that people have gone missing out in the scrub and no trace of them has ever been found,” commented Roy Matthews.

Terrible Sight

“I had a man working for me some years ago who said he had seen a yowie out here and there was no way he was staying out in the forest after dark. “Well, after he told me what it looked like, I was quite happy to start work a bit later in the morning and make sure I finished well before dark! “He said it was a terrible looking thing; like a big gorilla with a large head resembling three porcupines tied together. “It was something I did not want to run into, but I have heard about people who have. This would be the first night I have been in the scrub since then.” Pat Madden said that as a child she was told many different versions of the yowie legend. “We would only go to town once a month and we always made sure that we got home before dark,” related Pat.

“One day we were forced to leave the truck and walk back home through the forest. We felt we were being watched and I think we got back in record time!” NPWS ranger and excursion organiser, Montgomery, related the story about a mysterious disappearance of a whole carcass of beef from the butcher’s shop.“The butcher had left the carcass hanging in his shop overnight and locked up gone,” explained Polly.

“The 500 kilo animal had been carried out of the shop by something with enormous strength. “The incident was reported in the local newspaper at the time.”

Primitive humanoid

Well known yowie hunter Rex Gilroy, has been to the Pilliga Forest, the Warrumbungles and Mt Kaputar National Park in search of the primitive humanoid. On his website he reports that stories of yowie sightings in the Coonabarabran district date back to the 1800's. Just a few years ago a group of tourists reported finding giant ape-like footprints in road side bush in the Pilliga just off the Newell Highway.

Then there is the more recent report from a Sydney motorist who had stopped his car in the Pilliga for a rest and sighted a hairy ape-like creature about 10 feet tall watching him from nearby bush. Whether or not there is a such a creature as a Yowie in the Pilliga Forest has always been a hot topic for controversial debate in Baradine. But, although the infamous creature has successfully hidden for thousands of years, it should be remembered that the Pilliga Yowie, whether fact or fiction, is certainly doing its bit towards putting the forest on the tourist map. Apparently some are hoping that it becomes a major tourist attraction akin to Scotland's Loch Ness monster - believe it or not.

NOTE: a reader in Australia forwarded this article from August 2009 and states that the controversy over this sighting has increased to the point where some people are implying that this was a stunt to draw Yowie hunters and tourists to the area. Cosmic Blast Rattles Indonesia

Back on October 8th, something big lit up the late-morning sky (at about 3:00 Universal Time) over the island nation of Indonesia.

I first learned of this event three days later, when few details were known. A smattering of news reports described an extremely bright daytime bolide that exploded high above the town of Bone in the province of South Sulawesi. One television station showed amateur video of a tortured smoke train lingering in the sky, and unconfirmed reports suggest that a 9-year-old child died of cardiac arrest from the thunderous air show.

Since then, however, impact specialists have been quietly working behind the scenes to try to determine how much punch this cosmic interloper packed. According to a preliminary analysis released October 20th by Elizabeth Silber and Peter Brown (University of Western Ontario), the sky really was falling that day. The blast registered as extremely low-frequency atmospheric waves at 11 of the infrasound stations maintained worldwide by the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO).

Silber and Brown note that the high-altitude explosion was centered at 4½°S, 120°E, but it's been challenging to gauge the kinetic-energy punch it delivered. The most likely estimate is equivalent to some 40,000 tons of TNT, about three times the energy of the nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. If that value is correct, this was the most powerful meteoric blast since 1994, when a "mini-Tunguska," nearly as bright as the Sun, exploded over the tiny Pacific island of Kosrae. Brown and others estimate that events like this should occur about once per decade.

Something this obvious would not have escaped the notice of various defense satellites, because these cosmic intrusions look much like nuclear weapons exploding high in the atmosphere. (Here's a list of previous airbursts picked up by the U.S. military's "orbital assets" and made public afterward.)

It'd take a chunk of asteroid about 20 to 30 feet (5 to 10 meters) across to deliver a 40-kiloton wallop. But no one has yet claimed to have found any meteorites, according to Thomas Djamaluddin, a government scientist who's been monitoring the situation. Odds are that any surviving fragments fell into offshore waters.

Amazing UFO video released by Chinese government

China’s infatuation with UFOs and UFO sightings really does match that of the US. A week rarely goes past without the media whipping up frenzy over a UFO event somewhere in the country. Many suspect that China’s government is hiding extensive knowledge of extraterrestrial visitors to earth and it is known that the Chinese authorities do collect UFO footage and photographs for the purpose of identification.
This video hit the Internet earlier this year but was largely ignored outside of China. Allegedly this UFO sighting occurred in Beijing in 1995 and was held by the Chinese government for top-secret study for over a decade. The object in it was supposedly declared as truly unidentified and as such classified as either a natural or extraterrestrial phenomenon we do not understand.
If indeed the video shows a genuine UFO sighting of an object that was declared a mystery by government scientists after lengthy examination, as alleged, then it might be regarded as ‘smoking gun’ material.

Professor Paabo, who is director of genetics at the renowned Max Planck Institution for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, made the claim at a conference in the Cold Springs Laboratory in New York.

But Prof Paabo said he was unclear if the couplings had led to children, of if they were capable of producing offspring.

"What I'm really interested in is, did we have children back then and did those children contribute to our variation today?" he said in an article in The Sunday Times.

"I'm sure that they had sex, but did it give offspring that contributed to us? We will be able to answer quite vigorously with the new [Neanderthal genome] sequence."

The phenomenon is already seen in modern animals such as horses and zebras, and lions and tigers, but resulting offspring have always been infertile.

In recent years, fossils with both Neanderthal and modern human features have been found suggesting the two species interbred but previous scans of Neanderthal genes reveal Neanderthal DNA to have a very different make-up to modern man's.

It is hoped the new claim will provide an answer to these conflicting discoveries.

Neanderthals were primitive beings that lived alongside modern man 30,000 years ago. The two species coexisted for 10,000- 12,000 years before Neanderthals eventually died out.

Prof Paabo is seeking to prove his theory by examining Neanderthal fossils for traces of modern man's DNA. But if Neanderthal DNA existed in modern man's genes, he believes it will have been diluted below detectable levels.

His findings will be published in his analysis of the Neanderthal genome shortly

The Paranormal is Hilarious- Until it Happens to You!

Two of my brothers live in New England. I visit them often. One of my brothers has a neighbor who is very nice but strictly a skeptic when it comes to anything paranormal. This neighbor will not allow anything considered paranormal or unknown to touch his thinking or understanding of the world and universe around him.

My brothers both live in the same small town where they are very social and well known. Often I have been to affairs with my brothers when this skeptical neighbor goes out of the way to make sure I am insulted or treated with a nasty slant concerning the fact I write about the paranormal.

Many times I have told this neighbor to simply not read what I write and to ignore what I say. I told this man more then once that he and his wife need to live their lives as they see fit and to allow others to do the same. I try to avoid them when I visit my brothers. They do go out of the way to track me down when I am in my brother’s town with the sole purpose of being rude with loud displays of their limited thinking and knowledge. I ignore them and at times just walk away from them without saying a word.

People like my brothers neighbors are a dime a dozen. They are loud, nasty and rude. They also are people who have never had any type of unknown, strange or paranormal event happen to them or anyone close to them. People like this always have the most to say about subjects they know nothing about.

My job is to write about those who live through experiences, events and encounter things considered unknown. My job is NOT to make people believe what I write. I do not worry about what close-minded, angry -limited people think. My job is to step over them on my way to get the events that do happen out to those interested in things we do not fully understand. My job is to talk about the things paranormal we do not understand that happen to people all over the world every day.

The last week of September I went to visit my brothers for a few days. One day as we were eating lunch on my brother’s patio the phone rang. It was his neighbor’s wife. She was terrified. She was not making sense, crying and completely beside herself. She insisted my brother come over and for him to bring me!

I did not know what to think of this call. I had no choice and drove over to the neighbor’s house with my brother.

We pulled into the neighbor’s driveway to find the neighbor, his wife and his wife’s

Sister sitting on the front porch waiting for us. The three of them were pale white with wide eyes. They sat backs up against the house so close to the wall that they appeared painted onto the house siding. I knew at once something had terrified the three of them.

As we walked up to them the neighbor pointed to the driveway. Their car sat in the driveway with the trunk popped open. The neighbor said, “ They took all the family photo’s “. I thought they must have been robbed but still could not figure out why they insisted I come along with my brother.

I walked up and stood in front of the three of them. All of a sudden the three of them burst out into sobbing tears. They were crying so hard I could not understand what they were saying. My brother and I immediately tried to comfort them so we could figure out what was going on.

We were able to get the three of them into their house and sat them down at their dining room table. My brother poured them a class of wine to try to calm them to a point we could understand what had happened.

We sat with the neighbor, his wife and her sister while they told us what had happened.

The three of them set off that morning for a short trip to the wife’s brother’s house about three hours away. They were bringing him part of the family albums that were left by their parents. The neighbor’s wife and her sister promised to share the albums with their brother and decided to drive over for a visit and to deliver his part of the family photos.

They set off early in the morning and recall driving along and entering the main highway in route to the brother’s house. That was all they could recall. Later in the day about lunch time the three of them woke up in the car. Actually the two sisters woke up or came to in the car. The man, the neighbor, recalls either getting into or out of the car as the two women woke up. He could not recall why he was out of the car or if he was getting out or getting back into it. The three of them were confused, dazed and did not know where they were. They all had terrible headaches. It took them a few minutes to come to their senses. They seemed to be pulled over into a rest stop but there was only empty road and forest around them. They looked at their watches and found that about four hours had lapsed since their last memories, which was riding along the highway to their brothers.

They had to drive for a few miles before they found a sign to get a sense of where they were. They found that they had driven miles out of the way, in the wrong direction, and had no idea at all how they got there or why they were there. They drove for about an hour before they were able to turn on to a main highway they were familiar with.

They were shaken and not feeling well. They turned off the main highway when they came upon a town they knew. They found a small restaurant they had eaten at before and pulled in to its parking lot to try to calm down.

The neighbor got out of his car and walked around it. The two sisters got out of the car as well as they were feeling sick from a strange odor that was drifting through out the car. They rolled down all the windows and opened the doors to air out the car.

The three of them were shocked at the condition of their vehicle. It was covered in mud and dirt. It was a beautiful day without a cloud in the sky. The car had been freshly washed for the trip to their brother’s house. They stood in stunned silence looking at their mud-covered car.

They bought coffee and donuts thinking it may help them clear their heads. They called their brother and told him they were not coming. They sat in the car drinking their hot coffee and nibbling on the donuts when the neighbor noticed something on his wife’s face. He thought it was a piece of donut and reached over to brush it away. He found instead an odd round bruise a bit raised on her face. They soon discovered each of them had a small bruise on their faces or necks.

The three of them now frightened and confused decided to take the most populated route back home to their house. When they arrived home they opened the trunk of the car to remove the over night bags they packed. That is when they realized that all the photo albums were gone. A huge box of family photos was missing. They had no memory of stopping much less opening the cars trunk. They had no idea what had happened. They still felt sick and had terrible pains in their heads. They did manage to reason out searching to see if they had left the box in the house. They searched the house; the photos were not there. They were shaken; sick and confused to what happened to them during the hours they lost on their way to their brothers.

The neighbor remembered seeing me in town and sent his wife to call to have me come over to help them understand what they had just encountered.

My brother and I calmed them down and went out to look at their car. It was covered in a heavy mud. It also looked as if it had a few new scratches along the one side. The trunk had two over night bags and nothing else in it. Their photos were nowhere to be found in the car. We did not smell anything odd in the car but did notice a bit of the mud on the dashboard by the drivers seat. We locked the car and returned to the house.

We stayed with the people for about three hours. I listened to them repeat over and over what happened to them with the missing hours being totally blank to all three of them.

My brother made them dinner and I told them to search for any odd items when they could in the car and their baggage. I told them to leave the bags for now in the car and for them to turn on lights at night and lock their house. I also told them to see a doctor in the morning if they were in pain or still suffering from their headaches.

I visited them the next day. The three of them seemed well. They also seemed frightened to death. Something happened to them during the hours they lost that were not explainable or known. They experienced a very typical encounter with a lost time event.

I have no idea what happened to them along that highway or how they ended up miles away in a deserted area without any memory of getting there. I have no idea why all three had strange bruises on their faces and necks and I have no idea why the only thing missing was the box of family photos. I do know I have heard many reports very similar to this one.

I have no idea what occurs during these lost time events. I do know it is a terrifying event that stays forever with those who endure them. I also know that this family will understand now that it is cruel and ignorant to abuse those who live through these experiences. What happened to them is unknown. What happened to them has happened to many other people all over the world. It would be wonderful if we could take this seriously and investigate what it is that occurs to and re locates these people during their lost time events.

I do fear that until more of us have a real experience with the unknown it will remain for many hilarious - until it happens to them.

So much to learn yet so many closed and dumbed down minds intentionally blocking us to the road of truth. Maybe in time enough people will walk the road of the unknown and their jokes will become their living nightmares. Maybe then we will join as one and use our intelligence to solve these mysteries instead of sitting like fools laughing at our own ignorance.

Fossilised skull of 'sea monster' pliosaur found on Dorset coast

The fossilised skull of a "sea monster", which may be the largest of its type ever found, has been unearthed on the Dorset coast.

The skull from the ferocious prehistoric predator the pliosaur is 2.4 metres long and could belong to a creature measuring up to 16 metres in length from tip to tail and weighing up to 12 tonnes.

Pliosaurs were a form of plesiosaur, a group of giant aquatic reptiles that terrorised the ocean 150m years ago, around the same time that dinosaurs roamed the Earth.

They had short necks and huge, crocodile-like heads that contained immensely powerful jaws and a set of huge, razor-sharp teeth.

Richard Forrest, a plesiosaur expert, said the discovery was fortunate because pliosaur skulls were generally found crushed flat.

"What is fantastic about this new skull, not only is it absolutely enormous, but it is pretty much in 3D and not much distorted," he said. "You have this wonderful lower jaw – and you can just see from the depth and the thickness that this was immensely strong.

"It could have taken a human in one gulp; in fact, something like a T-Rex would have been breakfast for a beast like this."

The fossil was found by a local collector on the Jurassic Coast, a 95 mile stretch of coastline covering Dorset and East Devon that spans 185m years of geological history. Dorset county council purchased it for £20,000 with money from the heritage lottery fund, and it will now be scientifically analysed, prepared and then put on public display at Dorset County Museum.

Using four paddle-like limbs to propel its bulky body through the water, the pliosaur made easy work of passing prey such as dolphin-like ichthyosaurs and even other plesiosaurs.

"These creatures were monsters," said David Martill, a palaeontologist from the University of Portsmouth.

"They had massive muscles on their necks, and you would have imagined that they would bite into the animal and get a good grip, and then with these massive neck muscles they probably would have thrashed the animals around and torn chunks off.

Keep Cats Safe During Halloween Season

Long ago society feared cats, and many people believed a domesticated cat was actually a witch's "peculiar" — an associate of a person who practiced witchcraft.

With this excuse, hundreds of thousands of cats were trapped and killed to help rid the world of witchcraft.

Harking back to that stupidity, we still see people who use Halloween week as an excuse to hunt and injure cats. If you regularly allow your cats to spend time outdoors, this is an excellent time of year to keep them safely inside with you.

This is particularly true if your cat happens to be colored black.

Every year we see reports of cruelty visited on cats around the time of Halloween. And in recent years shelters have learned not to sell any black cats this time of year.

Perhaps people just want one to help decorate their home for Halloween? Whatever their purpose, most of these cats are returned to the shelters soon after the holiday. This is pretty much like seeking a kitten for the kids at the start of summer vacation and then abandoning it when the kids return to school in the fall. I often wonder what parents think they are teaching their children by such behavior.

As we have come to understand that some people will do this, shelters now tend to refuse to sell any black cats during the whole month. Failing access to black cats for their practices, those who seek cats for ritual or for sadistic practices will simply seek cats of any colors that can be found outdoors and torture them.

For these and other reasons, it is wise to keep your own cats indoors for the two weeks around Halloween, regardless of their color. To be really safe, cats should be kept securely inside an interior room where they will not be frightened by doorbells ringing and costumed children shouting and marching through the house. This way you can enjoy the holiday while knowing that kitty is safe and secure.

FLYING WITCHES FLIMED OVER MEXICO

The year was 1974. I was married at the time. It was late summer. I was in my bedroom on the second floor of our suburban home getting ready for bed. It was about 11 o'clock that evening. A large window in the bedroom covered a considerable portion of the bedroom wall. The window looked out over a small grove of pine trees standing between our house and our neighbors’ house.

The trees stood about 30 to 40 feet high. I glanced out the window as I changed into my nightshirt. I thought I saw something strange outside but a second glance revealed only the same old tree. Nothing else seemed to be there. I sat on my bed to fiddle with my slippers. From my bed I had a full view out the window. This time I clearly saw something. In the tree at the center of my window--the biggest tree, up near the top--sat a large glowing red orb, just hovering there.

I looked at it for what seemed a very long time as my mind tried to figure out what I was seeing. I had never noticed anything like that before. I wondered if my neighbor had placed some type of light in the tree. I wondered why he would do that, as its only purpose seemed to be illuminating my bedroom. I looked at it and realized it seemed to move slowly in a clockwise rotation. I also felt a little dizzy. I heard my husband in the kitchen and called for him to come into the bedroom and look at this thing.

I told him there was a strange light in the tree just outside the window. I was still sitting on the bed. He walked into the bedroom, handed me my nightly cup of tea and then walked over in front of the window. I heard him whisper, “What the hell is that?”

I stood up next to him at the window. He was fully dressed in jeans and a tee shirt and I was wearing my nightshirt with my cup of tea in my hand. We stood staring at this strange glowing red orb slowly moving in the tree. It had a deep red color and a semi-transparent depth making it multi-dimensional yet without a fixed shape. It was the size of a beach ball or maybe slightly larger. I couldn’t determine exact dimensions as the light distorted the size of the orb from second to second making it appear to pulsate as it hovered within the tree.

I would like to give a detailed explanation of what happened from that point onward but that is not how this experience played out. The next thing I recall is waking up in the morning on top of my bed next to my husband.

We were both groggy, feeling as if we had huge hangovers. We apparently had not been under the covers but were lying on top of them instead. The bed was l perfectly made. I was still in my nightshirt but wearing my robe now as well. My husband was fully dressed in his jeans and tee shirt. We remembered the red orb but had no memory of lying on the bed or falling asleep. My husband recalled getting very dizzy and apparently blacking out. I could only recall looking out the window. We were confused and felt very odd.

My husband immediately walked outside to see if he could find whatever might have caused that red light. I quickly threw on shorts and a shirt and ran after him. Frankly, I did not want to be alone in that room.

We searched the yard. We searched our neighbors’ yard. We found nothing unusual. My husband then climbed up into the tree where the red orb had been hovering. He found nothing at all. We walked over to the neighbors’ house and asked them if they had shone a light into the tree the night before or seen one there. They acted as if we were a bit nutty. We could not figure out what that red orb had been or why we could not recall anything from the point of seeing the orb until morning.

We never saw that red orb again nor was its temporary presence ever explained. A short time after that night my husband began declining into a depression and significant personality change. Fall and winter arrived. As time moved on he became very difficult to live with. About a year later we decided to divorce and go our separate ways. We did remain friendly. I would see him often in various social settings over the years.

It was October 2002. I had remarried years before and had a great family and happy life. My ex-husband also had remarried and seemed content. Every now and then we would see him and his wife. We all got along well. October had rolled around and we received from them an invitation to a big Halloween party. It was going to be a large party and everyone was asked to arrive in costume. Word around town was that they went crazy and had wonderful decorations. They had been working for weeks on this event. Our friends and family were also invited. Everyone was going to be there and so we decided to go too.

Without question, this party was the most mind-blowing thing any of us had ever seen. I was beginning to feel a little weird. The detail given to each decorative scene was way over the top for the likes of a fun Halloween party. The content of the displays also made me extremely uncomfortable. As we wandered around the house we made our way out to this huge tent they had erected on the back of the house. In this tent were food, a bar, chairs and a stage they had built.

The stage had a curtain over it with a sign stating the show would begin at midnight. I tried to relax and enjoy the party but frankly this insane display of detailed aliens and UFOs made me uneasy at first and then very nervous. The aliens were made of some kind of rubber. They were grayish and looked very real. It must have taken him months if not longer to create all of it. His wife later told me he had been obsessed with this party for over a year and spent hours every night and weekends building it all in their garage and attic.

Midnight arrived and we all gathered around while he pulled the curtain open across the stage for the show to begin. When the curtain opened, a display of a bridge of a UFO appeared with about four life-size mechanical aliens moving about, pushing buttons and making strange sounds as if communicating with one another. A table-like slab that seemed to float was in the corner of the display. It had a human-like full-size doll on it with an alien leaning over it. The alien held a tool in its hand and was waving it over the doll. The display had flashing lights and sound effects and everything in it moved. It was the most incredible thing I had ever seen and it frightened the hell out of me.

The people at the party were thunder-struck by this scene and yelled and clapped and laughed. They loved it. My ex-husband stood there looking very pleased. I walked over and just stared at him. He turned and stared back. I then said to him in extreme seriousness, “You remember this, don’t you, from that night?” Without blinking an eye or giving it much thought, he looked right at me and said, “Yeah, I think so.” He then turned and walked back to his party. I thought I was going to cry, vomit, or faint. I found my husband and told him I had a stomachache and wanted to go home.

On the drive home I told my husband about the red orb I had seen so many years ago and what had happened at the party and how upset it made me. Like all good husbands he reassured me my ex was just a bit off and that I shouldn’t take it to heart. I could tell, like a wife can, that my husband was concerned and found it all very odd as well.

I think something happened that night years ago when that red orb sat in that old pine tree. I think it changed my ex-husband for the rest of his life. I also think I subconsciously block all memory of it. Maybe his experience that night was worse than mine. I tried a few times to bring it up to him. He just tells me he is not sure what happened that night and will not discuss it past that. I am very fearful of it all since that Halloween party and so I just let the subject stay, as it is, unspoken.

I never take the stance that unexplained events people sometimes talk about are ridiculous or untrue. I lived a few experiences in this life I cannot explain. I simply refrain from letting them become the center focus of my life and I accept that we know far less than we think we do. I accept there are many things we do not yet understand. I also try to stay aware of my surroundings. I am a firm believer that it is best to walk away from that which one does not understand rather than to walk toward it. The unknown is just that--the unknown. My motto will always be to walk softly and carry that big stick. ♥

This photo was taken on an expressway from San Luis to Mendoza by Mrs. Susana Gonzales of Bahia Blanca. When reviewing photos on the computer, she found this very special one and has submitted it to us for analysis.

This was a difficutl task. Several computer resources were applied to extract what can be seen in the photo, but this was sufficient to classify it as a UFO. The photo is genuine.

The UFO seen here is oval, solid, which a metallic chromatic reflex, UV reflection (non-absorbent) and light/shadow effects that outline its profile. Since it was not seen in plain sight, there is no further information to be contributed, but upon analyzing the camera's high shutter speed - 1/2000 - and the pixellation, we can ascertain that it was moving very quickly and at an altitude of 1000 meters (the object was large).

Found: first 'skylight' on the moon

A deep hole on the moon that could open into a vast underground tunnel has been found for the first time. The discovery strengthens evidence for subsurface, lava-carved channels that could shield future human colonists from space radiation and other hazards.

The moon seems to possess long, winding tunnels called lava tubes that are similar to structures seen on Earth. They are created when the top of a stream of molten rock solidifies and the lava inside drains away, leaving a hollow tube of rock.

Their existence on the moon is hinted at based on observations of sinuous rilles – long, winding depressions carved into the lunar surface by the flow of lava. Some sections of the rilles have collapsed, suggesting that hollow lava tubes hide beneath at least some of the rilles.

But until now, no one has found an opening into what appears to be an intact tube. "There's sort of a chicken-and-egg problem," says Carolyn van der Bogert of the University of Münster in Germany. "If it's intact, you can't see it."

Finding a hole in a rille could suggest that an intact tube lies beneath. So a group led by Junichi Haruyama of the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency searched for these "skylights" in images taken by Japan's Kaguya spacecraft, which orbited the moon for almost two years before ending its mission in June.

The team found the first candidate skylight in a volcanic area on the moon's near side called Marius Hills. "This is the first time that anybody's actually identified a skylight in a possible lava tube" on the moon, van der Bogert, who helped analyse the feature, told New Scientist.

The hole measures 65 metres across, and based on images taken at a variety of sun angles, the the hole is thought to extend down at least 80 metres. It sits in the middle of a rille, suggesting the hole leads into a lava tube as wide as 370 metres across.

It is not clear exactly how the hole formed. A meteorite impact, moonquakes, or pressure created by gravitational tugs from the Earth could be to blame. Alternatively, part of the lava tube's ceiling could have been pulled off as lava in the tube drained away billions of years ago.

The Male Witch

I have been very fortunate to have many people who have had real events, sightings, close encounters and unknown experiences write to me. The fact that I protect those who talk with me gives me a wealth of information about the paranormal to write about. I am not interested in bringing ridicule or heartache to those who endure the unknown. I am only interested in bringing the stories to those who wish to read them. It is up to each and every one of us to form our own opinions. Dragging a persons private life out for others to invade is not my idea of addressing the paranormal. I am not a news reporter I am simply someone who wants to share the experiences of others for us all to use as a base of knowledge. With so many having so many events or sightings happen it is very probable one day you may find yourself in the arms of the unknown. Reading what others have lived through and how they handled it may one day be a lifesaver for you when your paranormal day walks right into your life.

Along with events I have been fortunate enough to find those among us who live the lifestyle of things we all hear about, think we understand yet are sadly confused or misinformed about. I have been able to talk with those who live as real life vampires, pagan witches, as well as those that have been labeled a ware wolf when in fact they simply suffer from a rare disease.

Today I am going to share with you an interesting interview I was lucky enough to have with a real Male Witch.

I found this man to be very polite and easy to deal with. He was good enough to share with me what his lifestyle is like being a Traditional Male Witch.

We interviewed in question and answer form. Since Halloween is a time of celebration for those who are witches I wanted to share some of those questions and answers with you as Oct 31^st approaches.

What kind of Witch are you?

I am not a neopagan new age self studied witch. I also am not a follower of a religion called Wicca invented by Gerald Garner around 1950. I am not a Satanist or devil worshiper

I am an initiated follower of an ancient wisdom tradition. A tradition handed down through generations from person to person. A tradition translated into different languages and cultures over the millennia. A tradition known in English as Traditional Wicca.

Do you belong to a coven of witches?

There are two types of traditional witches covens. There are training covens, where people regularly meet with a holder of the tradition, where that ancient tradition is once again handed down to another generation (possibly to a different language or culture). There are also “working” covens, where witches who have completed their training agree to meet regularly for a set period of time for some specific purpose.

I was trained for 10 years in a traditional training coven. Since my training with that coven was completed, I now practice on my own, not belonging to any working coven.

Witchcraft is often associated with the term "Wicca". What is Wicca?

It is a modern English term, coined by Gerald Gardner around 1950.

The term is used in two ways: neopagan Wicca, and Traditional Wicca.

Neo-pagan as the name infers is new paganism typically made up and invented by the leader of each group. This was the case with Gerald Gardner and is done by solitary witches. They do this without following the set traditions that are handed down from generation to generation. Followers of this type of Wicca often call themselves witches and being without a definite tradition, believe in and practice a random variety of different pagan ideas.

Traditional Wicca is a modern English term for a specific set of beliefs and practices that is handed down from generation to generation.

The modern term of Traditional Wicca refers to an ancient initiated, body of teachings and practices that have been handed down through the generations person to person for centuries.

These practices and beliefs constitute something similar to what is known in India as Hindu or Buddhist tantra, and could be described as "the tantra of the West." Contrary to public misconception, tantra does not refer to sexual practices. The meanings of the word tantra aptly describe Traditional Wicca.

Literally the word means: a loom, specifically, the warp or weaving. It also means: the leading principal essential part, main point, or characteristic feature of anything. It is a model, prototype, system, framework, doctrine, rule, or theory. Also: a chapter or part thereof, or a class of works teaching magical and mystical formulae.

Is there some organization behind Wicca?

There are some Wicca organizations, such as The Wiccan Church of Canada. Traditional witches normally have nothing to do with any organizations beyond their own coven of 13 or so members. The idea of some organizing body beyond that is foreign and incompatible with the basic tenets of traditional Wicca.

What does a traditional witch do?

Traditional Witches practice prayers, meditations, rituals and spells. We practice the prayers and spells that are selected, designed or altered by accomplished witches before us that are appropriate to our time and culture.

We learn prayers to watch and develop how we use our minds. We practice meditations, spells and rituals to explore what it is that we are really doing, and what it is that we really are. We do all of these things, so we can help others and ourselves when the need arises.

What's the purpose of the witch practicing witchcraft?

We are all of One Universal Consciousness. Finding that and identifying with that is our most intimate experience. There are powerful immediate effects that come from recognizing this. Because we can experience firsthand that we are not separate from anything we can be aware by instinct of self-preservation. It becomes impossible for us to want to harm another. We would be harming ourselves!

At the same time any pain or suffering we become aware of we experience as our own. Out of the instinct of self-preservation it is impossible not to want to help heal that pain or suffering. A drive to help others is inherent in the core experience of Existence itself. . Abhorrence for any kind of harm or deprivation is our way of life. These are the effects of learning to be a witch in the traditional sense.

We believe it is the union of the God and Goddess that creates the entire universe. Traditional witches place great value in a balance between the two of them and in the equality between the sexes. One can no more have one without the other than one can have day without night, here without there, or up without down.

Our daily practice is to learn to recognize these truths within us and around us in every moment and everything we do. We have prayers, meditations, rituals, and spells for our own languages, cultures and time that we use as constant celebrations of those truths.

We use prayers, meditations, rituals, and spells to try to reduce the harm we see around us. We use those things to try to help those who are suffering because we can feel the suffering happening to ourselves, as we are all of one Consciousness.

What's an example of a ritual in the daily life of a Traditional Witch?

First thing in the morning, we pay homage (pay attention to)

1. The Gods of Creation

2. The Gods of Destruction (as in renewal, which is the secret of "healing"), and

3. The Gods of Preservation.

We go to a sink, use a special cup acquired for this purpose and this purpose alone, fill it with water and then pour that water in libation, once for each of the above three.

In doing so, we start each day aware of the on-going living dream that we are immersed in. This is a very simple and ancient ritual shared by many cultures through many ages.

What are Witches Sabbaths?

They are eight festivals each year: four festivals of fire (including Halloween), and four festivals of the Sun (solstice and equinox). In the year, defined as one complete revolution around the sun, we see nature go through an entire cycle, and then repeat. This cycle is for us a huge Reminder and Celebration of our own cycles of Awareness.

This cycle is the cycle of birth, death, and re-birth, as traditional witches firmly believe in reincarnation.

While the Sabbaths are sacred to the Horned God, being celebrations of Awareness the Full Moons are sacred to the Great Mother Goddess being celebrations of Life.

What do witches believe about sin and the devil:

We have no concept of sin. We also do not believe in any absurd concepts such as the devil, nor of hell. These are all relatively new and manipulative concepts of the Sons of Abraham, which are Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

Instead of the idea of sin, we have a more ancient idea, something very similar to the Indian concept of Karma: we believe that what you do comes back to you (because it's all You in the ultimate sense anyway).

Instead of the idea of the devil we have the idea of ignorance and ill intent, which are everywhere we look, but certainly not as an organized force or single mythical entity like a devil.

Instead of hell we have the idea of self-created bad dreams that we experience right here, right now, depending on what we are dreaming. We deliberately go to hell by immersing ourselves in a hospital of needy people, or by visiting a battlefield. We can make our own lives into a living hell by making poor choices of behavior. It is certainly not everlasting though as by simply shifting our attention we can focus on the fact that it is only a dream and not take it seriously or we can dream something better by simply seeing things differently. By changing our habits and behavior we can decide not to visit that hell again or deliberately return to help others out of it.

Traditional witches cannot knowingly practice evil black magic or black witchcraft because everything one does comes right back at them. Traditional witches believe that any form of imposing one’s own will or opinion on another is a form of black magic. For this reason, traditional witches learn to never argue religion, politics or philosophy with others. They never try to recruit or convince others of their beliefs. For these reasons, when political forces seek to impose their will or beliefs on others, to persecute and eradicate the beliefs of others traditional witches end up hiding instead of openly arguing or fighting. Instead, they work quietly in their meditations, prayers and in their magic circle arranging opportunities for people to see the evil in their actions even if it takes centuries for them to accept these opportunities.

What does Halloween mean to you?

Of the 8 Sabbaths that traditional witches celebrate each year this one in particular is called the Grand Sabbath. It is the most important of all to a traditional witch.

Mythological- this is the day that our goddess descended into the underworld seeking the Great Mystery. It is a day when witches do the same. At this time the veil between the worlds reach its thinnest point in the fluctuations of the year. It is a time when we can contact the dead, and for the dead to contact us. It is also a time when the veil between the worlds being so thin allows us to be aware of all kinds of nonhuman living entities and they aware of us.

These entities might include any from the whole spectrum of life including spirits, angels, gods, ghosts, etc. Our Grand Sabbath is held at this particular time because it is a time when our Awareness of so many things occult can be so easily opened.

What is a Witches Familiar?

Part of our training is to experience the dream-like nature of reality and the relationship of imagination to it. To do this we are taught how to move, live and work outside of our bodies for brief periods of time. Think of the way you develop a close bond with a husband or wife. At times you sometimes feel like you can see through their eyes, or tell what they're thinking. A traditional witch can learn to deliberately build such a relationship with a loved pet such as a cat, dog, raven, or owl.

There are techniques for you to actually move out of your body and share the body of your pet. You are able to see through its eyes, walk or fly with its legs or wings. The purpose for being taught this is to see for yourself firsthand that you really do share the same Consciousness that all other beings do. You see for yourself that you are one with every creature in the most absolutely concrete sense. You realize that your own human body is just a witch familiar: it is an animal that you share consciousness with.

You walk with its legs, talk with its mouth, but you are not human. So you get a firsthand experience that you are, and always have been something far beyond human.

My interview was much longer and detailed then what I have written today. I will give this male witches web site link at the bottom of my article. The site is filled with far more insight and history then I was able to cover in this article.

I admit I did not fully understand the true base or lifestyle of a real witch until I interviewed this man. I found it very interesting to be educated to another way of life and thank him for helping me understand the world through his eyes.

Since Halloween is just around the corner I felt it a perfect time for us all to understand the meaning it has for others past our treat or trick give me something good to eat concept.

I do know the next time I dress up as a witch for a Halloween party I will think of this man and be filled with new meaning concerning the term Witch.
